NFL.com caught up with Cleveland Browns rookie QB Colt McCoy at a recent player outing. Colt told the NFL Network that he still has a lot of learning left to do, saying he is always learning. The coaching staff has told him they want him to be the leader of this years rookie class.
When asked if he’ll play this year, McCoy responded “We’ll see”. If Delhomme starts turning the ball over like he did last year in Carolina, we’ll see. We’ll see McCoy by week 8.
When asked about the transition from college to the pro game, McCoy said it’s more a mental transition than a physical transition.
You can watch McCoy’s comments right here.

The Cleveland Browns have come to terms with 6th round pick DE Clifton Geathers. Geathers is a mammoth players at 6’8″ 300 pounds but he has a 7 foot arm length from finger tip to finger tip. Geathers also comes from some pretty good NFL pedigree. His father Robert Sr played with the Buffalo Bills. His uncle Jumpy, played for 4 years with various teams and his brother Robert currently plays with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Former Browns WR Braylon Edwards most likely will not be facing any suspension from the league regarding his punch on LeBron James’ friend. ESPN is reporting that Edwards will most likely only face a fine from the league after he pleaded no contest to an aggravated disorderly conduct charge. The charge caused the Browns to trade Edwards less than a week after the incident.
For those of you who were planning on purchasing a Browns season ticket between June 25th and July 10th, You’ll get a bonus. Two free tickets to Cedar Point. You can learn more about the offer by calling 440-824-3434.
Watch out Cleveland. Here comes Braylon.
Former Cleveland Browns WR Braylon Edwards is coming to Cleveland and he’s not happy. The Detroit Free Press has a quote from Edwards this morning with his comments about returning to his hometown, Detroit. The University of Michigan star is looking forward to returning to Ford Field on November 7th but it was his comments about November 14th that Browns fans would find most interesting.

Edwards said, “Seven days later is the game I’m worried about. We go to Cleveland. You know I’ve got a little chip on my shoulder the size of a golden nugget. So I can’t wait to go out there.” I’m sure the Browns defensive coordinators are already worried. What’s the line on how many drops the draft bust will have? I say the over/under opens at 3. I’ll take the over.
Art Modell celebrates 85
To make Cleveland Browns fans Monday mornings, I found that former Browns owner Art Modell will celebrate his 85th birthday on Wednesday.

Kevin Cowherd of the Baltimore Sun penned a piece on the Ravens owner as he looks back on his career in the NFL and opined why he hasn’t been inducted into the Hall of Fame yet. Modell explained in the article that, “I’ll never be able to erase the anger in Cleveland, And I owe all that to the politicians who betrayed me.”
The only thing Modell said that shows some hope for football fans is that doesn’t expect there to be a lockout after the 2010 NFL season. Modell said, “Too much is at stake for everybody….the owners, the networks, the players. Too much money. Cooler heads will prevail.”
